“According to most studies, people's number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Death is number two. Does that sound right? This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, you're better off in the casket than doing the eulogy.”

Please call the office or email me to schedule a conference time. I value time spent with parents and want to be well-prepared for those meetings.
The 2017-2018 school year will mark my first year at Cumberland Academy. Previously I taught Theatre Arts at Abilene High and Mesquite High for 9 years. The last 13 years I have enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom to my children, now 13 years old and 7 years old. I have been married for 19 years to my hilarious husband, James. Our family has enjoyed lakeside living in Hideaway for the last two years, moving from Fort Worth in 2015.
I count it a great blessing to be back in the classroom working with young people. The skills acquired in Professional Communications will be important ones for your learner to build upon through their high school and college career, as well as their transition into the professional world.
Professional Communications is much more than public speaking. Students will be expected to develop and expand their ability to write, read, edit, speak, listen, apply software applications, manipulate computer graphics, and conduct internet research. We will work hard and laugh often!
I am looking forward to a terrific year at CAH!
