About Me:

The 2017-2018 academic year will be my  1st year at Cumberland Academy High School and my 12th year teaching.I am married to an Aggie and have 3 children. My oldest will earn her Bachelors of Accounting and Masters of Marketing from Texas A&M in May 2018. My middle child is a Junior Math major at Texas A&M. My youngest is a Senior at Grace Community School.

Accounting: Students investigate the field of accounting, including how it is impacted by industry standards as well as economic, financial, technological, international, social, legal, and ethical factors. Students reflect on this knowledge as they engage in the process of recording, classifying, summarizing, analyzing, and communicating accounting information. Students formulate and interpret financial information for use in management decision making. 

BIM 1: Students implement personal and interpersonal skills to strengthen individual performance in the workplace and in society and make a successful transition to the workforce and postsecondary education. Students apply technical skills to address business applications of emerging technologies, create word-processing documents, develop a spreadsheet, and make an electronic presentation using appropriate software.

BIM 2: This class will build on BIM 1 following the same skills but working at a higher level. A certification maybe obtained after completion.

Business Law: Students will obtain a solid foundation in understanding the legal issues related to topics of business law and personal law. Areas of study will include how laws were formed, procedures in civil and criminal cases, making contracts, terminating contracts, responsibilities of minors, being a consumer, purchasing power, personal and real property rights, money and the law, law and the workplace, starting a business and family law.
