Letter From Principal Schodowski

Letter from the Principal:

Dear CAH Parents,
We are certainly navigating unchartered waters at this time. The health and safety of our Cumberland family members will always be our top priority. With this in mind, we must also fulfill our obligation to educate. Our students are learning so much during this historical time and it is important that we join hands and prepare them for what lies ahead. Beginning March 23 rd , we will begin "distance learning" online instruction for all of our students. Our teachers have been diligently working towards designing engaging lessons that can be accessed at home via the Internet. If you are unable to access the Internet, then we are providing hours where your child may come to the school and use the district’s network. Our teachers will be reaching out via your child’s school email account with details regarding online assignments and deadlines. A list of our staff
members’ email addresses are available on our website. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you are having issues.

-Monday, March 23 rd Online coursework begins.
Students should look for email communication from teachers regarding assignments, projects, grading and attendance.
-Monday, March 23 rd & Tuesday, March 24 th –
Student medication may be picked up in the Lower Campus Office.
-Tuesday, March 24 th – Wednesday March 25 th 9:00am-11:00am Students may come to CAH if they need to check out an ipad or if they are having technical issues with their current ipad.
-For the next two weeks, students may utilize the school Wi-Fi Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am-11:00am. Please check-in at the front office for instructions.

Please encourage your child to complete his/her coursework. As of right now, students will need to complete the assignments in order to pass the course and gain
credit for the semester. Report cards will be uploaded in the Parent Portal no later than Monday, March 23rd. Parents who do not have their login information can email the HS front desk ([email protected]) and our front desk team will send them a PDF with their credentials. Information from the Texas Education Agency is changing and updating rapidly. We are currently waiting on direction as it pertains to student attendance. Please be patient and flexible, as we may have to alter and adjust as we move through this global health emergency. Please check your emails often, as we will be making decisions soon regarding events on our calendar. Be safe and take care of your families.

Sincerely,
Tim Schodowski
