Hi!
I'm Ms. Walter and I will be teaching the Graphic Design Career Pathway at CAH this year! Before I began teaching, I was a professional Graphic Designer in the local Tyler & Whitehouse area for over 8 years. I actually printed several of the spirit shirts for Cumberland Academy throughout the years before I joined the amazing team here at Cumberland. I'm very excited to return for my 2nd year at here and continue to grow the program with my new and returning students!
My goal this year is to help my students reach new heights by completing at least one industry level Adobe Certification. Completing these Industry Level Certifications in class as they progress through the Graphic Design program throughout their high school careers will immediately make them industry ready and employable from the moment they graduate their senior year.
I would like to encourage all students to pursue a complete 4 credits within 1 Career Program before graduation. Students who pursue a single pathway through all 4 years can graduate with an Endorsement on their diploma & a CTE Graphic Design Cord to wear around their neck at graduation as they cross the stage. **Hint Colleges will LOVE this ;) I hope that together we achieve new goals and students success not only in high school, but the rest of life as well!
